TRICARE accepted | VA benefits accepted | PHP and IOP in Concord and Nashua
Leaving the service doesn’t always end what the service started. Many veterans come home carrying trauma, chronic stress, sleep problems, or a drinking or drug habit that began as a way to cope. If you’re a veteran, or you love one, and you’re looking for rehab in New Hampshire, Bold Steps offers structured treatment for addiction and mental health at our Concord and Nashua locations. Our veterans program sits alongside our full range of treatment programs.
Call (603) 915-4223 to talk with our admissions team, or verify your insurance benefits online.
Health, relationships, work, and the move back to civilian life all shape how a veteran is doing, so treatment tends to work best when it looks at the whole picture. Substance use and mental health concerns often show up together, and Bold Steps treats them together. Your plan starts with your history and your goals, not a label.
Veterans come to us with a range of needs, including:
The reasons vary. Some veterans carry memories from deployment that don’t let up. Others struggle after leaving a life with clear structure, a team, and a mission. Pain, poor sleep, and strained relationships can pile on, and alcohol or drugs may start to feel like the only way to get through the day.
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, and you don’t have to wait for a crisis. If you’re noticing changes in your mood, your drinking, or how you’re handling stress, our guide to the signs of PTSD in veterans can help you recognize what you’re seeing.
Our Concord and Nashua locations offer the same levels of care: a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient care, and virtual IOP. PHP is the highest level of care we provide. It offers structured days of treatment with the option to return home each evening. IOP involves fewer weekly hours and can make it easier to keep working or stay involved with family while you heal.
Your clinical assessment helps determine which level fits your needs now, and your team can adjust as you progress. Many people begin in one level of care and step down to the next as they gain stability.
Bold Steps does not provide detox on-site. If you need to detox before starting treatment, our team can help arrange a referral to a trusted partner and plan your next step into PHP or IOP.
Treatment combines individual therapy, group therapy, and skills-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Trauma-informed care is part of how our team works, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the therapies Bold Steps offers when it fits a person’s needs. Family involvement and aftercare planning help you carry progress beyond the program.
If you’re dealing with mental health symptoms, substance use, or both, you can start with a confidential conversation. Our team can answer your questions and help you understand your next step.
When someone you love is struggling, it’s hard to know what to say or where to start. You’re welcome to call on a veteran’s behalf. Our admissions team can talk through treatment options, insurance, and what the first steps look like.
Clinicians, case managers, and other professionals are welcome to call our admissions team to discuss a referral and what a veteran can expect when starting treatment.
